12th Fundraising Seminar

Last week, the International Federation of Little Brothers of the Poor had the honor of organizing the 12th Fundraisers Seminar in Brussels. This annual event is a must for the network’s fundraisers. This seminar attracts participants from all over the world to exchange ideas and share experiences. This year, representatives from Chicago’s Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly and Amitié Seniors and Youth from the Democratic Republic of Congo were present. Despite their very different backgrounds, they all shared the same desire to learn from each other. It is precisely this diversity that has strengthened the International Federation’s network since 1979.

Over three intense days, 17 fundraisers gathered to discuss current challenges and best practices in fundraising. The agenda was packed, covering crucial topics such as: acquiring new donors, integrating innovation into fundraising efforts or highlighting the importance of donor relationships. One of the highlights of the event was the inspiring presentation by Denis from Pour la Solidarité, who shared his expertise on Erasmus + programs. His contribution was applauded by all participants. The guideline of this seminar was interactivity, as suggested at the previous edition in Barcelona. To this end, participants worked in small groups on real case studies and common issues. These moments of exchange enabled everyone to share their points of view and work on concrete cases linked to their daily missions.

As is the case at the end of every seminar, all the fundraisers left with a wealth of ideas and new perspectives. The seminar reinforced the feeling of belonging to a strong, committed network. Our warmest thanks to all participants for their enthusiasm and contribution to this successful event. We would also like to thank Ten Weyngaert, the Dutch speaking community centre of Vorst, for its warm hospitality, and Bras dessus Bras dessous for its indispensable support in making this event possible.

Fundraisers support the development of their respective organizations. Together, let’s combat the isolation and precariousness of older adults.
